It is the goal of the MDM 2009 Seminar Program to offer conference attendees a stimulating and informative selection of seminars (tutorials) reflecting current topics in mobile data management.
MDM'09 invites proposals for 3-hour Advanced Technology Seminars (a.k.a.tutorials) on all topics related to mobile data management.
Seminar proposals must include the following information:
- title
- abstract
- outline
- description of the target audience
- biography of each presenter
MDM 2009 aims to bring together leading experts from academia and industry in mobile data management as well as emerging and synergistic areas, so that they can interact and share their visions and experiences with conference participants to significantly advance mobile data management research.
Among other activities in the conference program, panels are the main vehicle to fulfil this goal. The panel committee invites submission of panel proposals that are expected to address new, exciting, and controversial issues in the research fields. They should be provocative, informative, and entertaining. Panel proposals are limited to two pages and should include:
- summary of the topics to be covered
- name, affiliation and contact information for the panel chair
- names and affiliations of up to four panelists (in addition to the panel chair) who have made a commitment to participate.
- position statements of the panelists
- biography of the panel chair and panelists
A mix of industry and academic panel members is encouraged.
Proposal Submission: Please submit your proposals (seminal proposals and panel proposals) via electronic mail to the Seminar Program Chair (bhzheng[at]smu.edu.sg) by November 1, 2008. Proposers will be notified regarding the outcome of the selection process by December 1, 2008. For accepted seminar proposals, proposers should be aware of the MDM tradition that the seminar slides will be made available to all MDM participants, both in hardcopy form and on-line, and that as a result, the final version of the slides will be due on April 15, 2009.
