MDM is a research forum on data management issues in the evolving world of mobile, wireless, and pervasive computing. MDM 2009 is to be held during May 18-21, 2009 in Hsinchu, Taiwan
(see http://adslab.cs.nctu.edu.tw/mdm2009/ for details). Following the MDM tradition, MDM 2009 workshops will provide the participants with opportunities to discuss and explore emerging areas of mobile data management with fellow students, researchers, and practitioners. Workshops may concern any topic within the scope of MDM. The goals of the workshops are to establish a common understanding of a certain aspect, to share experiences, to foster research communities, to learn from each other, to identify open problems and/or to explore future directions of research.
Workshops are tentatively planned to be held prior to, or after, the main conference (i.e., on either Monday, May 18, 2009 or Thursday, May 21, 2009). Arrangement regarding to the publication of accepted workshop papers are under way.
Workshop proposals should be no longer than 5 pages and should include : (1) a summary of no more than 250 words describing the theme(s) of the workshop, (2) a more detailed description of the workshop activities, specific goals and plan, (3) the background of the organizer(s), (4) the names of potential or previous workshop's program committee members, (5) the expected number of participants and the means of soliciting participation. The MDM 2009 organizing committee will decide on the acceptance of workshop proposals.
